Rampant capitalism is not an answer. We need a strong Social Contract that puts the needs of the People ahead of the needs of corporate America. Some of this cannot occur until 28. Citizens United needs be overturned. The gutting of most public agencies will give us an opportunity to rewrite laws crafted for today's realities, including technology we now employ. Many laws now on the books need careful vetting, some need to go completely, others rewritten looking towards future ramifications, rather than clinging to the past. A strong antitrust set of legislation could help break up many monopolies, starting with the media, now owned by 5 people. Another needed change is a strong Inspectors General corp, given real authority to affect needed changes. These are just a few possibilities. But however we move forward, the underlying ethos needs be WE THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE.
