Anyone who has spent more than a week in Europe will know that "universal healthcare, robust funding for public schools, and a total ban on congressional stock trading" is by no means extremist. It's what normal societies endorse.
We need young, strong, aggressive, social minded women to lead…we are so tired of ole white men who think war, money & power are their purpose in Congress!
Democrats who are taking AIPAC & PAC money better step aside because you are not what the party wants nor what this country wants.
For starters the new breed will get rid of Citizens United & the Electoral College…both are a detriment to this country & to the people!
We will chart a new course that is FOR the people, BY the people & OF the people…as it was supposed to be! We will decimate all corruption, thievery, cheating, stealing, and crimes against humanity!
We will defund ICE & DHS…and those who have committed crimes against humanity will be prosecuted, tried, convicted & suffer the consequences of their deeds. We will have plenty of empty detention centers to fill and we will go after all the criminals.
The new kids on the block will not allow any person to be homeless, go w/o food, go w/o medical care or be jobless. We will make sure all people live a dignified life & can help themselves out of poverty.
Roll up your sleeves people…we have a lot of work to! Instead of spending your weekends at the mall, come on out & help your community…help clean up your communities, help the homeless, help with animals, help children…help America back up to stand strong & tall again!
I'd really like to believe this and hope that it's true, but I'm also a Cubs fan and I'm far more used to getting my hopes up, and having the rug pulled out from under me in the end. Will this be another World Series win, or another first round sputtering out in the playoffs, or another late season collapse and "we'll get 'em next year" scenario... again. There's been many glimmers of hope for progressives this primary season, but primaries mean Jack-all and the big challenge is will we show up in crunch time when it counts to play in the big time big league or be another chapter in the 1/3 -1/2 of eligible voters that won't even spend a gorram day of their so-called miserable lives to actually make the next 2 or 4 or 6 year (or more) of our lives truly better?
Put up or shut up Dems and progressives. Prove me wrong... I beg you. Make me the wrongest wrong that ever wronged. Make me eat my words and predictions (for serious, I'll literally print this comment out on paper and post a video of me acting actually eating it by the end of Jan 2027 if the Dems win out actual majorities). Make me dance with the dog like Snoopy Joy this November, Christmas, and January 20th on. We're ALL already going to be spending years meandering our way out of the pit of 40 Trillion and change in AI & Pig Slop - yes, surprise all you clueless MAGAts that F'd it all up for everyone, YOU get your slice of this cowpie too!
Wonderful energy for your fellow Americans, especially those who may be struggling. There’s so many people around the world cheering all of you on - we know you will succeed at reclaiming your country and at cleaning it up. #PowerToThePeople
I agree wholeheartedly that the Democrats must change their approach. This timorous way of attacking the right has resulted in abysmal results.
However, using Abdul El-Sayed as an example is not a positive one. The fact that Michigan nominated him has placed the state in Republican hands right now based on polls. Even Democrats are reluctant to follow him primarily because of one word: Socialism.
Democratic socialist philosophy is not one that successful liberals like Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, or Barack Obama liberals have used-- though Obama trended center after his first two years. Think of all the accomplishments that we have now because of those "liberals." Those are who we should follow, and now, our chances for the senate are in danger because Michigan selected a socialist instead of a liberal.
I am a die-hard liberal, and my philosophies are sometimes called socialistic, like with Social Security and Medicare and civil rights and helping the poor and downtrodden. However, we are liberals, not socialists. There is a major difference.
