A Night of Despicable Rhetoric
What in the hell is happening in America? Just days before the election, Donald Trump chose to turn New York City's Madison Square Garden into a carnival of hatred, bigotry, and outright lies.
The former president’s rally—meant to be a closing pitch for his 2024 campaign—unleashed a torrent of vile rhetoric that should outrage every decent human being.
How can anyone support a man who not only tolerates but celebrates this behavior?
The Rally’s Opening Act: Racist Jokes and Vitriol
From the get-go, the rally included crude insults and racist tropes. [1, 2] It began with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who shamelessly mocked Puerto Ricans, calling their homeland a “floating island of garbage.” [1, 2, 3, 4]
Hinchcliffe didn’t stop there; his set was filled with racist stereotypes aimed at Latinos, Jews, and Black people. [3, 4]
This grotesque display set the tone for an event that was more about anger and divisiveness than any real political agenda.
Kamala Harris Targeted
Before Trump even took the stage, speaker after speaker launched attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her everything from “the devil” to “the antichrist.” [1, 4]
This language, as vile as it is inaccurate, only serves to inflame tensions in an already polarized nation.
Trump’s Speech: Lies, Racism, and Authoritarian Promises
When Trump finally appeared, his speech was a mix of lies, racial fearmongering, and promises of mass deportations. He reiterated his pledge to initiate “the largest deportation program in American history” if re-elected.
Trump’s rhetoric about a "savage Venezuelan prison gang" supposedly “taking over Times Square” is not just false—it’s dangerous.
The Hitler Comparison: Eerie Parallels
Both Hillary Clinton and Tim Walz drew historical parallels between Trump’s rally and the infamous 1939 pro-Nazi event at the same venue. [2, 4]
While it’s a provocative comparison, the hateful language used at Trump’s rally indeed bears striking similarities to that dark chapter in U.S. history.
A message projected by the Democratic National Committee outside the venue read, “Trump Praised Hitler,” underscoring the alarm felt by many Americans. [2]
Responses to the Hate: Outrage and Denial
As one might expect, the response to Trump’s hate-fest was swift.
Puerto Rican Backlash
Unsurprisingly, Trump’s campaign distanced itself from Hinchcliffe’s remarks about Puerto Rico. However, the damage was done, with Puerto Rican stars like Ricky Martin urging voters to choose Kamala Harris. [4]
In a swing state like Pennsylvania, where many Puerto Rican voters reside, the impact of such slurs could be significant.
Trump’s “Enemy Within” Rhetoric
Throughout the rally, Trump repeatedly referred to Democrats and other critics as “the enemy within” [1].
This dangerous language fuels division and could lead to real-world violence, as it encourages supporters to see political opponents not just as rivals but as existential threats to the nation.

An Embarrassment to New York and the Nation
For a change, top-tier media organizations reported on the horror of the rally.
A Surreal Spectacle
Madison Square Garden, a venue once graced by legends like Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson, was reduced to a symbol of Trumpian rage. [3]
In a bizarre scene, Hulk Hogan ripped off his shirt while declaring, “I don’t see no stinkin’ Nazis in here,” attempting to mock the comparison of Trump’s rally to the 1939 Nazi event at the same arena. [2]
Trump’s Love-Hate Relationship with New York
Despite a complicated past with his home city, Trump’s return to New York seemed more like an act of defiance than a strategic move.
He railed against the city, claiming it’s “overrun by violent gangs” and filled with “really rough people.” [4]
This depiction bears little resemblance to reality, but it perfectly aligns with Trump’s strategy of stoking fear for political gain.
Conclusion: Vote Against Hatred and Bigotry
America, this isn’t normal, nor should it be acceptable. Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden was more than just a campaign event—it was a stark reminder of what’s at stake.
The hatred, bigotry, and outright lies on display should be a wake-up call. We need leaders who unite, not divide, build, not destroy, and speak the truth, not peddle lies.
We must reject this toxic rhetoric by voting. Every vote counts. If you’re a liberal, progressive, or anyone who believes in decency, now is the time to act.
Vote for a future where hate doesn’t win—because it only does when good people do nothing. Vote for Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. America is better than this.

Make America Hate Again
This wasn’t an accident. It was the point. It’s what MAGA was built on—a message to the white, the bitter, and the fearful that their ginned up anger is a rallying cry, a political stance, and a weapon. It's a promise that America belongs to them and no one else. It’s why Trump’s rallies don’t even try to reach beyond his hardcore base. The sad part is that, for as many reasonably-minded people as he'll lose because of this abomination, he'll gain just as many who want nothing more than a fourth Reich.
