I'm Furious. Here's Why My Blood Is Boiling
My Anger Is More Than Justified - It's Required
Enough is enough.
You know what? I thought I was angry in the months and weeks leading up to Trump’s inauguration, but now I'm absolutely LIVID.
Everything we feared about his second term is coming true - and then some. Let me tell you exactly why you should be just as outraged as I am.
The Authoritarian Playbook: Now with Extra Chaos!
Remember when we worried about Trump's authoritarian tendencies? Well, he's not even trying to hide it anymore. His new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) - and yes, that's really what they called it - isn't just a bad joke, it's a full-blown purge machine.
This Orwellian nightmare, established on day one of his second term, is systematically dismantling our federal government under the guise of "efficiency."
And guess who's running this show? Elon Musk! Because apparently, putting a billionaire tech bro in charge of gutting our government is totally normal now.
They're conducting "loyalty reviews" (read: witch hunts) and aiming to eliminate 20% of the federal workforce.
That's right - one in five federal workers could lose their jobs because they don't pass Trump's loyalty test.
The Economy? Who Needs It Anyway!
Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, Trump decided to launch an economic nuclear bomb with his new global tariffs. On April 2, 2025, he slapped a 10% tariff on EVERYTHING coming into the country, plus "reciprocal" tariffs that can go up to 50% (or higher in the case of China).
The math behind these tariffs? It's so ridiculous it would make a kindergartener laugh - they're literally dividing trade deficits by exports and multiplying by 1/2, because apparently, that makes total sense!
Want to know how bad it is? These tariffs are the biggest tax hike in 60 years. Every American household is projected to pay an extra $3,000 to $5,000 per year for this nonsense (depending on what media outlet you read).
The stock market? It's been a rollercoaster from hell. After tanking for days (losing 12% in just four sessions!), Wall Street threw a party on Wednesday (April 9) when Trump suddenly announced he's suspending tariffs on everyone but China.
The Dow shot up because, apparently, that's what happens when the president stops punching himself in the face.
But here's the thing - this constant economic whiplash isn't just giving investors vertigo, it's creating long-term damage that no temporary stock surge can fix.
But hey, at least we're "winning," right?
DOGE: The Government "Efficiency" That's Anything But
Let's circle back to DOGE because this deserves special attention. They claim they've saved $130 billion as of March 2025, but guess what? Those numbers are about as reliable as Trump's golf scores.
They're redefining "fraud" to justify cutting programs they don't like, targeting DEI initiatives, and basically turning our government into a loyalty-based circus.
The World Is Laughing (and Retaliating)
Our allies? They're not just angry; they're fighting back. China's slapped us with 84% retaliatory tariffs. The European Union? They've put tariffs on $22 billion worth of American goods, targeting everything from motorcycles to poultry.
And Canada - our supposedly closest ally - has had enough too. They've slapped a 25% tariff on American vehicles and parts, adding up to a whopping $35.6 billion in auto tariffs alone, plus another $60 billion in other retaliatory measures.
This isn't "America First" - it's "America Isolated and Economically Screwed."
But here's the real kicker - our former allies aren't just retaliating, they're actively working to cut us out of the picture entirely. Japan and Canada are now coordinating to stabilize the global financial system - a job that used to be America's.
Countries are scrambling to form new trade relationships that don't involve us, because apparently dealing with Trump's America is just too much of a headache.
To top it all off, economists warn that what starts as a recession could morph into a full-blown fiscal crisis. But hey, at least we're "winning" the trade war, right?
The War on Truth: Media Edition
Remember when we thought attacking the press was just Trump being Trump? Well, he's taken it to a whole new level of dystopian nightmare.
The Associated Press - you know, only one of the most respected news organizations in the world - got banned from covering presidential events because they wouldn't call the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America."
Yes, you read that right. A federal judge had to step in to rule this unconstitutional, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Want to know how bad it's gotten? Major media companies are literally paying protection money to avoid Trump's wrath.
Disney/ABC News paid $15 million to settle a lawsuit, Meta paid $25 million, and Paramount/CBS is lining up to pay their dues, too, for their 2024 interview with then-Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. (Trump claims 60-Minutes unfairly edited aired version.)
The Washington Post, under the fearful leadership of Jeff Bezos, bowed down before the screeching Cheeto weasel by shifting the once-respected newspaper’s editorial stance to avoid antagonizing His Majesty.
This isn't journalism anymore - it's Stockholm Syndrome with a press pass.
Law Firms: Falling Like Dominoes
But wait, there's more! Trump's not just going after the media - he's systematically dismantling the legal profession's independence.
Remember when lawyers were supposed to represent their clients without fear or favor? Those were the days!
Now we've got prestigious law firms like Paul Weiss agreeing to $40 million in free legal work and abandoning their DEI practices just to stay in Trump's good graces.
Milbank LLP? They're on the hook for $100 million in pro bono services. Skadden Arps? They didn't even wait for the threat - they preemptively caved.
These aren't just any law firms - these are some of the most powerful legal institutions in the country, and they're falling like dominoes.
The Perfect Storm
So let's put this all together: We've got a president who's:
Imposing insane tariffs that are tanking the economy
Forcing media companies to pay millions in settlements to avoid retaliation
Strong-arming law firms into abandoning their principles
Using DOGE to purge the government of "disloyalists"
This isn't just authoritarianism - it's authoritarianism on steroids. The press is being muzzled, lawyers are being coerced, and anyone who dares to stand up to this madness is being systematically crushed.
The Bottom Line
Trump's assault on our democracy isn't subtle anymore - it's a calculated campaign of authoritarian control.
We're watching our government being dismantled and our economy being weaponized, all while Trump's supporters cheer on the destruction. Our allies are abandoning us, our institutions are crumbling, and our global standing is in free fall.
You're damn right I'm pissed, and if you're not furious yet, you're not paying attention. This isn't about politics anymore - it's about survival. Our democracy is being sold off piece by piece, while the world builds a new economic order without us.
Wake up, America. This is happening NOW. Not in some dystopian future, not in some other country - right here, right now. And if we don't stop it, we might not get another chance.

April 19th will be another day of protests by the organizers feom Hands Off and others... they want 3.5% of the population to turn out. That would be 11 million people! If 5.2 million came out by some estimations on April 5. Then surely we can make it to 11 million or more on April 19th. Spread the word folks, on ALL social media.. Share it with your family, friends, neighbors, et al. We can come out in greater numbers than the 11 millions.
In regards to Krasnov mango mussolini's regime. It is despicable and disgusting. Vile and abhorrent. This is why continuing to PROTEST is what will get us change. Personally? I wish the effing republicans in office grew a damn spine and voted with the Democrats and remove the demented orange turd. Only time will tell. For now protests will make them hear us. We can not keep spiraling down for a few more years. We will not stand. 🗽🩵💙🇺🇸🌎🫂
Your last sentence. "The time for polite disagreement is over. The future of our democracy hangs in the balance."
My good friend just said yesterday that the car salesman didn't mention any tarriff situation. This was a statement made in reference to a mutual friend buying a new Toyota yesterday.
My goodfriend of 40+ plus years does not discuss politics. She hasnt discussed politics since around Trvmp 1.0.
It has become harder and harder for me to spend time around her for the last 5 years, due to her lack of concern for humanity.
As of yesterday she didnt even know about the tarriff situation. I have another friend who doesn't discuss politics either. The only way I can take their actions are as selfishness. I don't know any other way to take it. It has caused me to back off from two valued friends.
I feel like "The Little Red Hen".
