Let’s cut the crap and call this what it is: a burning cross disguised as a political rally. MAGA converged on the Phoenix Convention Center last week for AmericaFest, the first Turning Point USA gathering since Charlie Kirk’s death.
And who better to headline this absolute garbage fire than JD Vance? He stood before a cheering crowd and delivered a line that would make a Grand Wizard blush, telling the audience that in the United States, they “don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”
This statement is a masterclass in gaslighting because that is a thing that has literally never happened anywhere, at any time, in American history. Nobody is asking them to apologize for their skin color; we’re asking them to stop being bigoted jerks.
But Vance knows his audience. He used the platform provided by the event to spew a white Christian nationalist manifesto disguised as a pep talk.
It’s a desperate, cynical ploy to feed the grievance machine, painting the most powerful demographic in history as helpless victims. It’s pathetic, it’s dangerous, and it’s the core of their entire identity.
A Movement Rotting From the Head Down
Racism is the engine running the entire MAGA clown car. Don’t let them pretend this is some new infection brought in by outsiders. Remember that Trump launched this whole nightmare in 2015 with a racist diatribe against Mexican immigrants.
Trump forged a bond with perpetually aggrieved white people that borders on cult worship, and now the movement is shocked - shocked! - to find actual Nazis feeling comfortable in their tent.
Internal chaos has gripped the right-wing ecosystem since Charlie Kirk’s killing in September. Various ghouls are now scrambling to assume the mantle of MAGA leadership, and the infighting is delicious.
Nick Fuentes, an avowed white supremacist and Holocaust denier who thinks Hitler is “cool,” wants the top spot. He is apparently too reprehensible for some of the MAGA faithful, which is rich considering who they voted for.
You don’t get to invite vampires into your house and then complain when they start biting people.
The “Game of Thrones” for Grifters
This is where the rot turns into a full-blown gang war. With Charlie Kirk gone, the power vacuum has turned the movement into a desperate, blood-soaked scramble for the crown of “King Bigot,” and the infighting is absolutely delicious.
The AmericaFest stage became a literal boxing ring for grifters, with headliners tearing each other apart in real-time.
Ben Shapiro kicked things off by nuking the room, calling out Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Steve Bannon as “frauds and grifters.”
He didn’t hold back, labeling Bannon a “PR flack for Jeffrey Epstein” and blasting Carlson for hosting “Nazi-loving” Nick Fuentes.
It was a glorious moment of accidental honesty where one conservative finally admitted their movement is infested with “charlatans who claim to speak in the name of principle but actually traffic in conspiracism [sp?].”
The response was exactly as toxic as you’d expect. Carlson mocked Shapiro from the stage, calling him “pompous” and laughing at the idea of de-platforming antisemites.
He even tried to claim that “anti-white” racism is just as bad as antisemitism, a dog whistle so loud it shattered windows. Meanwhile, Bannon called Shapiro a “cancer,” and Candace Owens is out there claiming Israel was involved in Kirk’s death.
This isn’t a debate over policy; it’s a circular firing squad inside a clown car. The “moderate” ghouls (who only want some racism) are openly warring with the “mask-off” faction (who want all the racism).
Even the Heritage Foundation is imploding, with staff quitting in droves because their president defended Carlson’s neo-Nazi pal, Nick Fuentes.
Ultimately, MAGA isn’t fighting for the soul of the movement - that’s been gone for years. They’re fighting for market share of the grift, and they are tearing Trumpism apart to get it.

The Snake is Eating Its Tail
This is the inevitable end state of a movement built entirely on hate and exclusion. They have spent years stoking the fires of bigotry to win elections, and now the flames are burning down their own house.
They want to be racist enough to win the base but not so racist that they scare off the donors, and that tightrope is snapping.
Vance, Carlson, and the Heritage Foundation goons are finding out that you can’t control a monster you raised on a diet of lies and xenophobia. They are tearing each other apart in a frantic purity spiral of awfulness.
And honestly? They deserve every bit of the misery they are inflicting on themselves. The tragedy is that they are determined to take the rest of the country down with them.
We have to make sure that when this toxicity finally consumes them, American democracy isn’t inside the belly of the beast.
