You can expect Vance to start supporting the 25th Amendment halfway into Trump's term. He hopes to be able to postpone it until then so that he'll be able to get another term. The 22nd Amendment, besides limiting the presidential terms to 2, also limits the maximum number of years to 10, so if Trump is removed before the 2-year mark, Vance would have more than 10 years if he won the next 2 elections, so he constitutionally would be ineligible for that 3rd term, but if he takes over after the halfway point, he'd qualify for 2 more terms.
