Big question about Putin possibly moving to nuclear weapons: are there not nuclear-armed countries in the EU, or beyond, who could stand up to him before he decides to try that?
Meanwhile thanks for the interesting article. Putin is certainly tenacious and persistent in his cruel policies, and I'd love to see an exploration of the other possibility you mentioned in passing: his elites deposing him. Thanks!
Thank you for a very good article. Russia is simply a despotic petro-state with nuclear weapons. Absent them, Russia would have little relevance in the world. Unless a coup occurs removing Putin, I donβt see any off ramp for Russia. Ukraine will prevail sooner than later I pray.
Another great story waiting to be told is the reluctance of the West to use the $335 billion of frozen Russian assets in western banks to fund the Ukrainian war effort against Russia.Β The West is more concerned about maintaining the integrity of Western banking system as opposed to funding the defense of a democratic country against the invasion by an authoritarian regime.Β Of the $335 billion, $210 billion are in EU banking institutions.Β Time for EU countries to sell Ukraine long range offensive weapons that can penetrate deep inside Russia and reimburse themselves with the billions of frozen assets.Β The war would end very soon.
Simple; inform Russia, not just putin but the people of Russia, if the big bomb is used the return will wipe all the lovely domes and churches in Moscow out.
I find it interesting; putin may be near the end of the war he started while trumpy is (reportedly) trying his damnest to get out of the war he started. Both obviously losing.
Viva Ukraine! πΊπ¦
Thanks for the quantifying analysis.
You really think Russia can continue like this for even another month? Something huge will give very soon, this is simply unsustainable
I wonder if the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers of Russia will be what eventually puts an end to this.
SLAVA UKRAINI!! We love you Zelenski!!

Free Ukraine!
Bill Browder says it will probably end up like Korea. A stalemate. Putin doesnβt like to lose. Itβs not in his vocabulary.
