REALITY: Just that last year, not one single student at that school they chose tested proficient in reading or math
“This is the school where the Chicago Teachers Union kicked off their 2024 agenda. They picked it because in their words, we want this type of school all over the district.
The Philadelphia boy who exposed his fellow classmates for being unable to read a simple sentence is now under threat of being blocked from graduating and expelled simply for blowing the whistle on his school’s low literacy rates.
A voice of real hope, and the vision of what has already begun and will continue as it creates a new national order "with liberty and justice for all".
A positive report this, thank you. We the People need more such readings, reinforcing what all, or nearly all, are hoping for, working for and dreaming of having. You added the comments of one of my favourite intelligentsia, Robert Reich. I would add another, Heather Cox Richardson. Her writing makes clear how the history unfolded and how it equates to today's world. My point here is to take a look at what happened in the US after the end of the Great Depression and WWII. The bounce back after the first Gilded Age was tremendous. It could easily be what our future looks like. Remember history isn't new, history repeats itself.
