Tomorrow, We Remind Them Who Is in Charge!

Tomorrow, millions of us will gather. In big cities and small towns, from coast to coast, everyday Americans will stand up for the most fundamental principle of our nation: we do not have kings in the United States.

We are teachers, veterans, union members, and parents, united by a love for our country and a deep concern for the direction it is headed. Our message is a defense of democracy itself.

From Washington, however, we hear a different sound. It is not the confident voice of leadership. It is the panicked, frantic rhetoric of an administration and a political party that is terrified of its own citizens.

As we prepare to exercise our most basic constitutional rights, they are preparing a campaign of smears and intimidation. Their actions are not a show of strength. They are a confession of fear.

A Campaign of Fear and Smears

The playbook is as predictable as it is pathetic. Unable to defend their authoritarian actions on the merits, Donald Trump’s allies have launched a coordinated, evidence free assault to demonize patriotic Americans.

House Speaker Mike Johnson and other leading Republicans have labeled our planned peaceful gatherings a “Hate America Rally,” baselessly claiming we are “pro-Hamas supporters,” “Antifa types,” and “Marxists”.

In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott used the inflammatory and unsupported label “antifa-linked demonstration” and has already directed the National Guard to “surge forces into Austin” to confront peaceful protesters.

This is more than just name calling. It is a deliberate strategy to poison the well and create a pretext for a crackdown. They are even trying to blame us for their own failures to govern.

Why They’re Afraid

Make no mistake: their fear is not about violence. It is about our power. They saw what happened in June. More than five million Americans rallied in over 2,100 communities across all 50 states.

They saw a movement that is not a fringe element, but a massive coalition of over 200 mainstream organizations.

They are afraid because we have successfully claimed the mantle of patriotism. Our signs read “No Kings Since 1776.” We carry the American flag not as a prop, but as a symbol of the democratic ideals we are fighting to protect.

They cannot argue against this. They cannot defend the idea of a king. So they resort to lies and intimidation. As one organizer correctly stated, their attacks are a backhanded “compliment of our relevance and power.”

They are not afraid we will break the law. They are afraid we will win the argument.

Tomorrow, We Show Our Strength

The administration’s campaign of fear has failed. It has only clarified the stakes and strengthened our resolve. Tomorrow, we will answer their threats not with fear, but with courage and conviction.

Our movement is, and will remain, committed to non-violent action. We will look out for one another. We will keep each other safe.

They want us to be scared, but as one organizer declared, “we will not be bullied into fear and silence.”

We will wear yellow to show our unity, a bright, bold, and unignorable symbol that power in this country belongs to the people. Tomorrow, we will be peaceful. We will be powerful. We will be patriots. We will remind them what democracy looks like.
