Excellent piece. The funniest part was as he was addressing the spineless Congress, they clapped and gave standing ovations. Did any of them hear the insults in that polite British fashion?

What a load of codswallop. Grab one and beat the other. Both countries talk the talk while neither walks the walk. Both white supramacist exploiters that only bring misery to their colonies and vassal states. Neither of which ever gave a hoot for the conditions of their own populations never mind others.

You may find this of interest.

An extract of a newspaper article.

It was one of those tweets by a public body you couldn’t quite believe. “Here’s today’s surprising #FridayFact,” HM Treasury declared last week. “Millions of you helped end the slave trade through your taxes.” Attached to the tweet was an image of slaves in chains with the caption: “In 1833, the British government used £20m, 40% of its national budget, to buy freedom for all slaves in the empire. The amount of money borrowed for the Slavery Abolition Act was so large that it wasn’t paid off until 2015. Which means that living British citizens helped pay to end the slave trade.”

The slave trade was actually abolished in 1807. The 1833 Slavery Abolition Act abolished, as the name suggests, slavery itself. A Treasury so loose with its facts might explain something about the state of the British economy. Worse, however, was the claim that British taxpayers helped “buy freedom for slaves”. The government certainly shelled out £20m (about £16bn today) in 1833. Not to free slaves but to line the pockets of 46,000 British slave owners as “recompense” for losing their “property”. Having grown rich on the profits of an obscene trade, slave owners grew richer still from its ending. That, scandalously, was what the taxpayer was paying for until 2015.

Yes. I was aware of that. Did you know forensic archeologists studying the remains of Carribbean slaves found that they died from overwork? On the job so to speak. Because there were always more where they came from. Disposable slaves. Cheaper to replace than care for long term.

I was born in Liverpool UK. Relocated to Australia as a child when we emigrated. However I learnt as a kid from my father that Liverpool’s wealth was a result of the slave trade. That the City was a part of the “golden triangle”

Liverpool to Africa for slaves then to the Americas to drop them off then picked up the sugarcane to take back to Liverpool.

He also told me that many slaves babies born on the sea journeys were left on the docks or taken home by the officers of the ships to be raised as future servants!

Jane Austen (a famous novelist) was so convicted by what she read in the newspaper of the time wrote a novel to raise awareness of the wealthy families profiting on the sale of people. And their being “paid” by the government on the loss of their property! 😢😢

Yes I was aware. As I was aware Carribbean slaves were worked to death literally dropping dead in the fields. But yeah Charlie gave a great speech democracy loving nature and all that. Tbh I always considered the US to be the bastard child of the UK same shite different bowls is all. Same lofty speeches same nefarious realities.

His speech was outstanding. However- your comment is absolutely true

The King's speech was as reported loaded. Remember, this is a REAL KING. However no matter how articulate, eloquent, and fluent his words were it is obvious the majority of those applauding did not understand. The MAGA cultists, Republicans all, and the old, feeble would-be 'king' donnie could never comprehend or perceive the meaning and implications. Clearly for this first time in years the Chamber of the House of Representatives clearly heard truth, honesty and clarity unlike the usual blather of weak political hacks. Be proud, America, you elected this crowd of clowns.

I watched the wonderful speech in its entirety

Damn, you know it's bad when even the British Royal family calls you out.

King Charles is a huge supporter of climate science and an advocate for the environment. British royalty survives because it evolves.

When POTUS got jealous of Xi after he visited the Royal Palace in 2017, he started the Trade War against China. When the POTUS got jealous of King Charles’ speech, you know that the UK will be targeted. Just watch.

Erm ... have you been in a vacuum. There are no white supremacist exploiters in any real place of influence in the UK. I suppose there is Tommy Robinson aka Yaxley-Lennon aka Paul Harris, who carries an Irish passport (which coincidentally, the Irish authorities believe may be illegal) who changed his name to hide his criminal record. There's Frog-Face-Farage who likes to think he is bffs with tRump but was, quite rightly, torn to pieces by Jamie Ruskin. As for colonies and vassal states .... Long gone old chap. The British monarchy are not all stuffed shirts heehawing for punkawallahs and gin&tonics masquerading as refreshing insect repellent. The British Empire's dismantling and returning of sovereign rights began following WWI. King Charles' late mother, Queen Elizabeth, being highly involved in the process when she became Queen. I think you would be best served looking closer to home when it comes to white supremacy.
