The Epstein scandal is the ghost that haunts Donald Trump’s every attempt at reinvention, no matter how many times he tries to wave it away with bluster, distraction, or outright denial.
Years of shifting stories, legal threats, and wild accusations have done nothing to erase the public’s memory of his long, tangled history with Jeffrey Epstein.
Now, with a single, stunning admission, Trump has managed to set off an even bigger firestorm—and this time, he’s the one holding the match.
Trump’s Stunning Admission
Trump’s latest attempt to explain away his relationship with Epstein produced a moment of jaw-dropping candor. Here’s the full exchange from his conversation with a reporter onboard Air Force One on Tuesday, July 29.
Reporter: You said yesterday your falling out with Jeffrey Epstein was over him taking some of your workers from your business, but your administration in the past said you threw him out because he was a creep. So, can you explain that discrepancy?
Trump: Well, maybe they're the same thing, you know. Sort of a bit of the same thing. But, no, he took people that work for me and I told him, 'don't do it anymore.' And he did it and I said, 'stay the hell out of here.'
Reporter: Yes, they were young women?
Trump: Yeah. In the spa. Yeah, people that work in the spa. I have a great spa - one of the best spas in the world at Mar-a-Lago. And people were taken out of the spa. HIred by him. In other words, gone. And other people would come and complain, 'this guy is taking people from the spa.'
I didn't know that. And then, when I heard about it, I told him, 'listen, we don't want you taking our people,' whether it was spa or not spa. I don't want him taking people. And he was fine, and then not too long after that he did it again and I said, 'out of here.'Reporter: Mr. President, did one of those stolen, you know, persons, did that include Virginia Giuffre?
Trump: I don't know. I think she worked at the spa. I think so. I think that was one of the people. Yeah, he stole her. And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know - none whatsoever.
This is not just a slip of the tongue. Trump openly admits that Epstein was recruiting young women from Mar-a-Lago’s spa—women like Virginia Giuffre, who was only 17 at the time and later became one of the most prominent accusers in the Epstein trafficking scandal.
The magnitude of this admission cannot be overstated: Trump is not only confirming that his club was a hunting ground for Epstein, but he is also attempting to minimize his responsibility by focusing on whether Giuffre ever complained about him.
The callousness is breathtaking, and the political fallout is immediate and severe.
A Story That Never Stays Straight
If Trump hoped this admission would finally put the Epstein questions to rest, he has only succeeded in making the contradictions more glaring.
Trump and his team have offered a rotating cast of explanations for why he supposedly cut ties with Epstein. Sometimes it was because Epstein was a "creep." Other times, it was a property dispute.
Now, it’s all about Epstein "poaching" spa workers from Mar-a-Lago. When pressed on the discrepancy, Trump waved it away.
These shifting stories are not just embarrassing—they are damning. Each new version raises more questions about what Trump knew, when he knew it, and why he has spent so much energy trying to muddy the waters.
The public and the press have noticed. Even some of his own supporters are growing restless, frustrated by the administration’s refusal to offer a consistent or credible account.
Conclusion: The Scandal That Won’t Die
No matter how many times Trump tries to declare the Epstein scandal "boring" or a "hoax," it refuses to fade away.
His latest admission is not the end of the story—it’s the beginning of a new, even more damaging chapter.
The world is watching, and this time, Trump’s own words have done what years of reporting and investigation could not: they have made the scandal impossible to ignore.

Cant help but question just how "damning" this all is for him, or the GOP, as it certainly won't stem the onslaught of horrific policies, cruelty to immigrants, their weaponizing the DOJ, etc.
