In a move that has shocked the world and outraged anyone with a conscience, Donald Trump has handed Vladimir Putin a 50-day window to continue his brutal assault on Ukraine.

Let’s be clear: Trump didn’t give Putin a deadline—he gave him a green light—fifty more days to murder, rape, and slaughter women and children in Ukraine.

This is not just a policy failure; it is a moral catastrophe and a disgrace to the Office of the President.

Fifty Days of Bloodshed: Trump’s Deadly Delay

On July 15, President Trump announced that Russia would have 50 days to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine or face “very severe” economic penalties.

When pressed on why he chose such a lengthy timeline, Trump offered no real explanation, only deflecting and shifting blame.

“Well, at the end of 50 days, if we don’t have a deal, it’s going to be too bad,” he told reporters, refusing to clarify what consequences Russia would actually face or why he was giving Putin nearly two months to continue his rampage.

The reality on the ground is horrifying. In the days following Trump’s announcement, Russia escalated its attacks on Ukrainian cities to levels not seen in the past three years.

Drones and missiles have hammered civilian areas, leaving a trail of death and destruction:

• In Kharkiv, a 57-year-old woman was killed, and nine others—including two children—were injured in a single strike.

• In Sumy, twelve people were wounded, including a 14-year-old girl. A university was hit by Russian drones, injuring five staff members and a 19-year-old student.

• A missile attack on Shostka injured another 14-year-old girl and damaged a medical facility and residential buildings.

These are not isolated incidents. Over the weekend, Russian aerial strikes injured nine people, including civilians, at a maternity hospital in Kharkiv. The death toll since Sunday alone has reached at least five, with countless more injured and traumatized.

TACO: Trump Always Chickens Out

This latest debacle is just the most recent example of a pattern that has come to define Trump’s presidency: TACO—Trump Always Chickens Out.

The phrase has exploded in popularity since Trump’s trade war threats earlier this year, as he repeatedly blusters about tariffs and sanctions only to back down or delay when it matters most.

Whether it’s China, Europe, or now Russia, Trump’s threats are empty, his resolve nonexistent, and his cowardice on full display.

The 50-day ultimatum is a textbook case of TACO in action. Instead of imposing immediate, crippling sanctions on Russia for its war crimes, Trump has given Putin a free pass to continue his campaign of terror.

Senior Russian officials have openly mocked the ultimatum, with one lawmaker noting, “Oh, how much can change both on the battlefield and with the mood of those leading the US and NATO in 50 days.” In other words, Russia views this as an opportunity, not a threat.

Enabling Atrocities: Trump’s Disgraceful Legacy

Let’s not mince words: Trump’s actions are enabling the slaughter of innocent civilians. By delaying consequences and refusing to hold Putin accountable, he is complicit in the ongoing atrocities.

The evidence is overwhelming—since Trump’s announcement, Russian attacks have intensified, targeting women, children, hospitals, and schools. The message to Putin is clear: You have 50 more days to do your worst, and the United States will look the other way.

This is not leadership. This is cowardice. This is TACO. It is a stain on America’s reputation and a betrayal of our most fundamental values.
