When Trump started flip-flopping last year on supplying weapons to Ukraine, I asked myself then what country he planned to invade himself. Now it's done. It's clear Putin and he cooked this up. We were never told what was really discussed in Alaska.

Huh.... That ties a few things up nicely. A few things to add to that bargain; tRump got the oil, but Russia and China split the Venezuela silver reserves about a week before when the mines went black. So, the world lost 12% of its silver production when that happened and the US got a token shipment of silver (call it a red herring) and China with Russia split the balance of the reserves.

It will be interesting to see how Tech companies make out when their silver orders don't get filled and China and Russia have been hoarding silver for a long time....

Interesting....

I beg to differ. Putin is accepting a blow to multipolarity huge investments in Venezuela in return for a country he's already beating on the ground? Russia has already crossed off Europe it can do as it likes buy or not buy russian energy as Russia has now diversified that sector quite profitably. Between China and Russia the 2 powers that have large investments in Venezuela Russia has made the more forceful declaration of support. This by the foreign office as the Kremlin has said nothing as yet Russia being in deep orthodox holidays. You quote a lot of Americans and their wet dreams but a lot has changed since 2019. Trump has already stated his plans to do the same to other backyard countries such as Cuba Colombia and others. Even Greenland You honestly believe that Russia and China will sit back and let their hard-earned BRICS vision be destroyed in return for Ukraine? And US neo colonialism?

The us can no more take over Venezuela than it could Vietnam or any other place it's forced regime changes on. Putin is no fool, he'll watch and laugh while the US burns itself out trying. They couldn't best ansarallha (purpose misspellings) and Yemen is much much less well prepared than Venezuela. The topography of Venezuela and other South American countries would defeat any effort any external foot invasion especially given the strength of disgust that the people have for Trump and their commitment to socialism. Us gunships are old and outdated. They had to withdraw from Yemen because they ran out of ammunition, they don't have capacity and when was the last time the USA (and under far better administrations than this one) actually decisively won a war and controlled any country they attacked? Seriously, don't believe the chest beating because there's absolutely no substance under it.
