I really enjoy your commentary, Sam. However, when you place someone who is as despicable to us liberal Democrats on a pedestal, then I may have to stop. Carville is not one of us. He is one of those DLC right wing democrats whose policies led to George W. Bush entering the White House in 2001. He may be right about Trump, but I read nothing that he spews out today.

But he's probably not wrong here, and my guess is Republican donors are going to push for this scenario, but only after the midterms.

Because if Vance assumed the office after the midterms he would finish the two years of this term and STILL be constitutionally eligible to run for two more full terms.
And given Vance's objectively horrible approval ratings and distinct lack of charisma or individual policy positions....assuming the office by means of a Trump resignation, or oyster, is probably his only way to be President in the first place.
And his only opportunity to win the office via election is by incumbency.
So I guarantee that Vance, his allies, tech bros and Republican donors are already thinking about it.
