Malcolm Nance isn’t one for hyperbole. When he warns that Trump is actively laying the groundwork for war, people should listen. The idea of the U.S. invading Canada and Greenland sounds like a bad satire of American hubris, but the steps he outlines—political destabilization, economic warfare, and military aggression, have played out before in history, and the consequences have always been catastrophic.

This is not some far-fetched conspiracy. Trump’s rhetoric about Canada being the “51st state” is an intentional effort to delegitimize its sovereignty, just like how Putin denied Ukraine’s right to exist before invading. The tariffs and economic destabilization? A proven strategy to weaken a country before moving in. And Greenland? It’s all about mineral wealth and controlling the Arctic.

The most terrifying part? NATO would be forced to respond. A U.S. invasion of Canada would pit America against its allies. At the same time, at home, military leaders and state governments would face an impossible choice: obey an unlawful, catastrophic order or resist the President of the United States.

This isn’t just corruption or incompetence. This is how autocrats start wars. And if Trump isn’t stopped, we all know how this story ends.

In light of Columbia University's self cancelling and there capitulation of the House and Senate, one thing becomes clear. If you let this administration to divide us into individual factions, you become vulnerable to their assaults. But by coalescing into large cohorts, you draw strength to combat the distruction of our government of laws and the attack on academic freedom, e.g., the exploration of ideas. Fascism: control the press; control education; control the government. All of this is in service of keeping the populace uninformed making it easier to manipulate.

He has already said that there will not be any more elections. How can he do this? By starting a war, then suspending elections so as not to hurt the war effort. Then he will transfer any resistance to himself as non-patriotic resistance to the war. Then old rich males will, again, get richer as young, insignificant, non-rich lives are wasted on the battlefield for their greed.

Back in the seventies I was laughed at for arguing that a fascist government could be elected in the US. Seeing some of the war scars in Western Germany in the late sixties, encouraged my young mind to take a deeper look into the human condition that could lead to such a catastrophic political upheaval. It took a while to come to fruition, and had hoped it wouldn't happen during our lifetime. This is so sad.

Magats are laughing, and joyoously looking forward to committing atrocities. If people don't believe it's possible, they need to remember that most of them are religious, they believe their cause is righteous, so atrocities are JUSTIFIED. Look at pictures taken after lynchings, of smiling people, proud of killing other humans because they believe it's righteous. This is why they are calling Democrats "pedophiles" and "groomers" and all else, they are priming the magat hordes for atrocities, make no mistake, those atrocities ARE coming.

Dr. Kevin James Osborne's avatar

Lux, thank you for sharing this truth. I came across this quote from Voltaire. “He who can lead you to believe an absurdity can lead you to commit an atrocity.” This applies to the U.S. being governed by President Donald Trump and the Republican Administration. They use religion to state the absurdity. Example: Most Venezuelans are criminals. It’s ridiculous because it’s not true. The justification that they are lawbreakers is used to deport them to the abusive CECOT prison in El Salvador. Americans are told that they are doing something God would agree to. After all, they are removing evil people. It’s despicable. We who know this do our best to speak against the injustice and inhumanity of the illegal actions of President Trump and the Republican Administration. It’s tough when it appears they are getting away with gross injustices. But I believe their arrogance will be their ultimate undoing. More Republicans will be affected by policies that result in cuts to Medicaid and Social Security. Republicans are losing their jobs in the federal workforce. They are astonished that Trump is going after them. How could he when their support of him is for a just cause?

Expand full comment
Lux's avatar

Too true, I was sort of indirectly referencing that quote. That is just it, it is the religion that has led us to this place, AGAIN, as religious fervor is no stranger to mass psychoses, followed directly by atrocities, think Salem Witch Trials, the Spanish Inquisition, et al. They were already *primed* to believe a bunch of bullshit, over many, many decades, the religion softened their brains. If I hadn't had *personal* experience with psychosis, I don't believe I would understand it so well, I mean, the only "psychology" I've taken was psych101, and that only because I needed credits in the "humanities" to pursue software engineering. I actually began writing about my experience with paranoid/delusional psychosis, though I've only as yet published part one of my story, I genuinely believe that what they are experiencing is a mass psychogenic epidemic, like a dancing plague.

It is a contagious state of mental illness, passed one to the other, "folie a deux" X tens of millions, shared delusional disorder. In the second part of my story I am attempting to dig into the hyper-vigilance, because THAT is the main component of this thing, trump set it off right out of the gate, "Mexico is not sending its best people..." etc (as if they were "sending" people), the absurdity of the beliefs doesn't matter at all, it is that state of "hyper-vigilance" that connects the dots, as it happened in me, though my own delusional psychosis was drug induced, it was no less the same thing. Once the hyper-vigilance sets is, ANYTHING and everything can become a part of the conspiracy they see. In my case, "they" were in the walls and ceilings of my home, they were poisoning my coffee, poisoning my food before I bought it, if I passed two people talking to each other in the grocery store, they were talking about ME, because those people "knew", everyone knew but me. It was as though I could "feel" cameras and microphones watching, listening to me, everywhere I went, everything I did, "we are EVERYWHERE Mr Bond", it was like that.

I believe trump himself, Fox, Republican politicians, right wing influences, whether knowingly or not, are ADDING to the magat's confused, hyper-vigilant state of mental illness, it is as if in their heads, they have a giant cork board, with pictures, red string, and thumb tacks, with every new lie, or fabrication, a new picture is added to that cork board inside their heads. None of the dots ACTUALLY connect, but it hardly matters anymore, because they are literally CLINICALLY psychotic, I KNOW this, because I have experienced it, and I'm telling you, it is 100% the same psychosis I LIVED.

I have had conversations with them virtually indistinguishable from the conversation that got ME committed to a psych ward, and put on court ordered treatment for two years (mostly cause I continued taking amphetamines for the first years of it), it's pretty strange looking at it from this side, but I would *recognize* it, anywhere. So basically, about a third of the population of the United States, are clinically insane, and our "leaders" are doing everything within their power to keep them that way, it's more than a little alarming.
